Are PS3 and PS4 pads on Ubuntu 18.04 fixed?

As per subject, looks like due a some recent Sony employee commits, the PS3 (and PS4) are also seen as xinput devices, hence introducing the following bugs:

  1. Those act as mouse pointers (workaround: execute /usr/bin/xinput set-prop 'PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller' 'Device Enabled' 0 after connecting via bluetooth)
  2. The pad gets registered as player 2, hence making impossible to play some games (which require player 1 only)

Do we know if this is fixed in next LTS (i.e. 18.04)?

Thanks!
