Logging in to a desktop only

by Maldini   Last Updated February 20, 2018 17:02 PM

I just opened my laptop today and when I logged in I only can see the desktop and files in desktop. No menu bar or anything. I can open the terminal; I tried "update" and "upgrade" to fix it but still I'm still having the same problem. I tried the compiz config. I'm using Ubuntu 16.04. The page provided did not solve the problem.
