SSL failed due to lack of client certificate request

I'm working on some web applications which requires client certificate and encounter ERR_BAD_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT error. I think it means the certificate which client send is wrong, but certificate select dialog doesn't show anyway.
I tried that recreate server certificates, client certificates. My application doesn't connect directly to browser(using Loadbalancer) and SSL terminated to this Loadbalancer, so I confirmed my settings but it was correct. There are CA certificate which application trusts and client certificates which trusted CA signed on my web browser. By using Wireshark, I found application send client certificate request, so I assume that browser cannot somehow find certificates.
So, in the first place, how does browser recognize which certificate should be selected? I think my problem stems that browser cannot find proper certificates.
