Space between handrail posts and opposite wall

I'm having a staircase rebuilt and was wondering if there is any codes regarding the space between the outer edge of the handrail post and the opposite wall. My stairs are about 40" wide and the space from the posts to the wall will be 33.75".

So the space between the handrail and opposite wall is about 33.75" too which I know is acceptable but I wanted to know if the posts sound like they are ok.
