I have three datasets that have data on GDP per capita on a bunch of countries. The countries are ranked according to their GDP per capita. I'm trying to find out the average change of rank of countries between three datasets.
To give an example: I have GDP per capita for countries 1,2,3,4, and 5, and rank them according to their gdp per capita for each of the three datasets. In dataset 1, country 2 is ranked second but in dataset 2, country 2 is ranked fifth, while dataset 3 has country 2 ranked as third. How do I go about calculating the average change of rank for country 2?
If it were two datasets I don't think there would be any problem for me but I'm not sure how to calculate the average change when there's more than two datasets.
Would it work if I calculated the average change of rank between each of the datasets (average change of rank between dataset 1 and 2, dataset 1 and 3, dataset 2 and 3) and then adding those averages together and split it in three?
